Project Management Coach
A major client was embarking on a new project with a specialist subcontractor. Although very well regarded technically, the subcontractor had shortfalls in its project management capability. The prime contractor hired JE to mentor the team in project management theory and practice and in particular sit alongside the incumbent project manager as a day to day coach.
The existing project manager had some experience and therefore some set ideas about how to manage projects. In this case, the project had specific requirements and demands that were outside of the skill set of the PM. JE provided their Principal Consultant to sit alongside the PM and provide coaching in these techniques. This has a dual advantage; it gets the project delivered and develops the individual in the process. All too often, companies will rush to remove struggling leaders. This might be what is required but there are more positive solutions. If you have a similar situation and you need to guide your staff through a difficult phase then get in touch and we can discuss how we can help.
