Heathrow T2

The recently opened Queens Terminal is a significant addition to Heathrow airport being the hub for the Star Alliance Airlines. It was a major construction project involving many complex systems including a set of integrated security products. Tyco delivered the security systems and used Jackman Enterprises as their Project Management partner for the entire project. JE supplied expert project delivery and planning resources along with overseeing the complete delivery of this very successful project.

This major 3 year project was led by JE from start to finish. This began with the mobilisation and establishment of the Tyco project office at Heathrow and the formation of the core team of engineers and managers. In particular, JE supplied expertise in the field of planning and P6 scheduling which is crucial when working on NEC3 contracts with earned value analysis. One of the most important aspects of this project was to build a very effective team and instill very strong team working behaviours. During the tough install and commissioning phases, when deadlines were pressing, it was this that made the Tyco team so successful. In addition, JE and Tyco adopted a non-combative approach to the entire project. In an environment of multiple stakeholders and suppliers with differing interests this made the Jackman Enterprises led team stand out as one of the most cooperative and collaborative suppliers on the whole T2 programme.

TYCO CHOSE JE AS THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM DUE TO THEIR TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS AND THE EXPERTISE OF THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALISTS THEY DEPLOYED. THE DRIVE, FOCUS AND ENERGY DISPLAYED BY DUNCAN AS HE LED THE PROJECT WAS RELENTLESS AND WAS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE OVERALL SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT. JE REPRESENTED REAL VALUE FOR MONEY.
